The 71310E working face of the 13th layer is a complex structural coal seam in the Xiezhuang Coal Mine of Xin Kuang Group. The coal seam thickness is 0.37 (0.3) 0.7 (0.01) 0.07 m, with 1-2 interlayers of interbedded rock. The middle layer is stable, about 0.30 m thick, and the lithology is relatively hard carbonaceous quartz sandstone (around f7～f9). The rest are layered pyrite interbedded rock (around f8～f11), unstable. The working face contains coal with interbedded rock thickness of 1.4～1.7 m, averaging 1.45 m. The pure coal thickness is 1.1～1.4 m, averaging 1.2 m. The working face extends east-west for 654～730 m, averaging 692 m, and slopes north-south with a width of 252 m, a sloping area of 147356 m2. The corresponding ground elevation is 165.0 m, and the average buried depth of the working face is 395.6 m.
Under the complex geological conditions of the 71310E working face of the 13th layer: thin coal seams, numerous faults, and hard coal quality and interbedded rock, generally existing picks suffer from severe unilateral wear and accelerated alloy wear during operation, reducing their effectiveness and service life by an average of 40%, delaying normal coal production. Therefore, Xiezhuang Coal Mine conducted a 10-day comparative test of our company's spark-free reinforced alloy-based self-rotating pick and a certain imported pick (Appendix 3: Our company's patented pick after the test; Appendix 4: The imported pick after the test).
Through comparative testing, our company's patented spark-free reinforced alloy-based self-rotating pick, designed with a spiral groove, allows the pick body to self-rotate along the pick axis using reaction force, reducing unilateral wear and improving the pick's service life and underground coal production.
